The refuge is isolated about 4 hours’ walk from the nearest parking lot.
It is self-sufficient in energy and mainly resupplied by helicopter.
Its operation is therefore different from accommodation in the valley.
Payment Conditions
Payment by checks, holiday vouchers (max €100/person), or cash.
The refuge is not equipped for credit cards.
After reservation by phone or email, a deposit is required (€15 per person) by check and postal
mail to the following address: SAS les Estagnous – Pedescaut – 09700 Saverdun.
Don’t forget to include with the check the details of your reservation (date, name, number of people, phone number).
Any changes or cancellations must be made by phone at 033 (0)9 88 18 34 53 no later than 48 hours before the reserved date.
This check will be cashed in case of forgetfulness or late cancellation.
Reduction for groups (more than 10 people) and children (under 13 years old).

Welcome Conditions
Introduce yourself to the guardian upon arrival.
Clogs/Crocs and trays provided (hiking shoes and backpacks not allowed inside the refuge).
The refuge is a collective type of accommodation, sleeping arrangements are organized in dormitories, and you are assigned a place by the guardian. During the opening period, the area that is free during winter is part of the refuge’s capacity.
A travel sheet (or sleeping bag) is mandatory for hygiene reasons, disposable sheets are available for sale on-site for 5€.
Mattresses, duvets, and pillows are provided.
Energy is limited: lights out in the evening (10 pm in the dining halls), timers in the bathrooms and dormitories, only one dining hall is equipped with heating and drying facilities, a single electrical outlet is available for charging electronic devices (3pm – 8pm), hot showers at an additional cost.
Bring a headlamp, earplugs, warm clothes, and toiletries.
Refuge Hours
Dormitories open around 3 pm. Dinner is served communally at 7:00 pm.
Breakfast between 7 am and 8 am.
Lights out at 10:30 pm.
Catering
Meals
In the evening, a set menu:
starter (soup), main course (meat and side dish), local cheese, dessert, drinks available at an additional cost.
At lunchtime:
on-site, light meals (daily specials, omelets, sandwiches…)
to go: picnic (sandwich, salad, chips, fruit, cereal bar) to be reserved at least the day before, sandwiches (ham, pâté, or cheese).
Throughout the day: a wide selection of cold and hot drinks
Dietary Requirements
Please specify when booking (vegetarian, allergies…).
Telecommunications
No phone coverage or WIFI at the refuge,
save your battery (use airplane mode…)
Waste
The refuge does not handle hikers’ waste.
It is your responsibility to take them back down to the valley;
bins are available at the parking lot.
Animals
Dogs are not allowed in the refuge.
Presence of wildlife, herds, and guard dogs:
minimize disturbances (go around, keep noise down, keep dogs on leash…)
